This Veda is made up of 6 Kandhas (Segments) with each of these having 5 to 11 Prapathakas (similar to Chapters) for a total of 44 Adhyayas (Chapters):

In addition to the traditional Sama Veda Samhita hierarchical organization presented here of Books, Sections, Chapters and Decades, the following overview summarizes the numbering to allow the reader to search for a particular Mantra.

Sama Veda has 1875 [1800?] Mantras total:
- Poorvarchik - 6 chapters with 650 mantras

According to the Atharvana-Charanavyuha of Atharvan-Parisishta, these 5 Kalpas are:

1) Samhita-vidhi (or Kausika-Sutra)
2) Vaitana-Sutra
3) Santi-Kalpa
4) Angirasa-Kalpa (unpublished)
